Kick-Off Event of the 2024 International Mediation Writing Competition in Vietnam

The Weinstein International Foundation (WIF) has officially launched the 2024 International Mediation Writing Competition (IMWC2024).

This exciting event invites law students from participating countries across the globe to showcase their writing skills in the field of mediation.

The competition promises not only the opportunity to engage with complex legal and mediation concepts but also offers a top cash prize of $1,000 USD.

Hosted by WIF, the kick-off event will include a prestigious panel of speakers who are pioneers in the field of mediation:

Daniel Weinstein, Founder of the Weinstein International Foundation and a globally recognized mediator.

Ellen S. Bass, Lawyer and Board Member of the Weinstein International Foundation.

Jay Welsh, a seasoned mediator and WIF Board Member.

Đỗ Thanh Thủy, Legal Director at TH Group, Mediator at the Vietnam Effective Commercial Mediation Center (VEMC).

Competition Structure

Law students from countries such as Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Ecuador, Egypt, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, and Vietnam will compete in this global platform.

Participants are tasked with drafting a mediation memorandum on behalf of a client involved in a litigated dispute.

This memorandum will be judged on its quality, with the best submissions moving forward to win the top prize.

26/9/2024: Official Global Kick-Off Event (Zoom) 

3/10/2024: Webinar on “How to Draft an Effective Mediation Brief”

30/10/2024: Memo submission deadline

The competition culminates with the Global Closing Event and Award Ceremony on 12/12/2024, where the winning entries will be announced.
