ANT Lawyers – the laws promulgating imported scrap in Vietnam has been clarified with the newly issuance regulations. Circular 01/2013/TT-BTNMT of the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment clarifies the list of imported scrap, which is effective from April 1st 2013 replacing the list issued with Decision 12/2006/QD-BTNMT. Accordingly, the list of imported scrap will be added a number of categories such as: chemical elements that is used in electronics, re-cooked scrap ingots (iron, steel, cast iron), waste and scrap of cast iron; shells of molluscs, crustaceans, wastes from silk of foreign countries; mica scrap, sawdust, paraffin wax, scrap and debris from rubber, new rags, printed circuit scrap derived from non-tariff and export processing zones. The importing of scrap must ensure compliance with the law on import of Vietnam.
