Responsibility and client communication
Agree the instructing party, the client and the Vietnamese-law work required. Establish who gives instructions, who approves material steps and how any direct contact with the client will be handled.
English-language advice and deliverables
Define the questions to be answered and the format your team needs: written advice, document comments or a due diligence report. Agree any translation requirements and, where relevant, the purpose and permitted reliance on our advice.
Conflicts, confidentiality and documents
Start with the information needed for a conflict check. Agree the method for sharing confidential documents, authorised recipients and relevant client requirements before exchanging the detailed file.
Reporting, fees and billing
Agree the supervising lawyer, daily contact, milestones and reporting needs. Confirm the fee basis, expenses, invoice recipient and payment responsibility, with changes in scope discussed as the matter develops.
