Making an initial enquiry
To help ANT Lawyers assess your request, provide a short description of the matter, the names of the parties involved, the relevant location and any deadline. For business matters, identify the company seeking advice and your role.
At the initial enquiry stage, send only the information needed to identify the matter. Ask how to provide sensitive documents before sending a detailed case file.
For a transaction or business project
Describe your objective, the proposed activity or transaction, the parties and the stage reached. Identify any planned signing, filing or completion date.
For a dispute
Identify the parties, the main issue, the amount involved where relevant, and any court, arbitration or response deadline. State whether proceedings have begun.
Before work begins
Conflicts and suitability
The identities of the parties help the firm consider conflicts of interest and whether it can assist. An enquiry or introductory discussion does not by itself confirm that ANT Lawyers has accepted the matter.
Scope and responsibility
The engagement should identify the client, the work requested, the responsible contacts and any limits or exclusions. Clarify the decisions or deliverables you need and the intended timetable.
Fees and expenses
Request a written proposal covering the fee basis, assumptions, applicable taxes, external expenses and payment arrangements. Any change in scope should be discussed with the firm.
Documents and communication
Agree the contact persons, preferred language, document-sharing arrangements and reporting needs. Let the legal team know promptly about new facts or deadlines.
Preparing for a meeting
- A concise chronology or summary of the project.
- Key contracts, notices or corporate documents relevant to the questions you want addressed.
- Your commercial priorities, desired outcome and timing.
- A list of questions and the people who will attend.
Please arrange meetings in advance through our Contact page. Confirm the scope and any consultation fee when arranging the meeting.
