Circular 38/2013/TT-BTC: Increase 2-3% import tax on some commodities

On April 4th, the Ministry of Finance issued Circular 38/2013/TT-BTC adjusting the import tax rate for some commodities as follows:

Unpacked synthetic filament yarn (for retail) from elastomeric type (code 5402.44.00) and high carbon steel wire coated copper alloy used for inflatable pneumatic rubber tire (code 7217.30.31) will have tax rate of 3%.

Regardless the elastic polystyrene particles (code 3903.11.10), highly affected polystyrene (code 3903.19.21), other types (code 3903.19.29), the tax rates increase from 3% to 5%.

The import tax rate on Nylon-6 fiber fabric uses to produce tire (code 5902.10.91) increases from 5% to 7%, others fabric from polyester (code 5902.20.99) have the tax rate increased from 0% to 3%.

Circular takes effect from May 19th 2013.
