Decree 24/2013/ND-CP: Reduce the time limit for the child adoption

Under the new regulation, the time limit for the adoption of father, mother and children with foreign elements will be shortened from 45 days to 25 days from the date of receiving complete documents and fees.

The cases where minor children adopted by the father (or mother) that mother (or father) of that children is dead, missing or lost civil act capacity then the guardian will complete the adoption procedure for the children.

The non-resident foreigners in Vietnam together with permanent residence foreigners in Vietnam could file application being father, mother of the adopted children, which is different from previously regulated that both parties have to be residing permanently in Vietnam.

Decree 24/2013/ND-CP takes effect from May 15th 2013, replacing Decree 68/2002/ND-CP and Decree 69/2006/ND-CP.
