Decision 11/2013/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on banning the import, export and trading of wildlife specimens
From March 15th, specimens and products made from white rhino, black rhinos, African elephants will be banned from exporting, importing and trading under the provisions of this Decision.
However, these above specimens could still be imported if they serve for diplomatic purposes, research, exhibition.
In addition, specimens for non-commercial purposes are eligible to import or specimens was certified for CITES import permit before the effective date of this Decision is also allowed to be imported.
Organizations and individuals violating the provisions of this Decision, depending on the nature and severity will be punished under the provisions of the current legislation on the management, protection, trade, transport, export or import of wild animals and plants.
